Multi vs Single Tenant Database

Your own data (you decide what appears)

The entire e-see® brands database is filtered (using the brand filter which you can configure) to show only your own brands and categories or alternatively your selection of listed brands in any search results.

For example - in the standard e-see database when you search for a brand or product, the system will search and display results for all brands (tenants) listed in the system, including brands from other companies. With a brand filter configured - only your own brands or categories will be found.

This is less confusing for some users because they can only find your images, etc when accessing the system via your website.

e.g. A user of a Holden branded system will only be able to search for and find Holden brand and image assets.

How it works

The e-see® brand management system is a hosted multi-tenant online application. The Pro Edition provides a Private Label or Single Tenant capability. Where brand owners can present a branded single-tenant website for their users and partners to access their data.

Brand Owners, Brand Managers and Users logon to the system in order to access the application and work with brand assets that have been published for use.

With e-see Standard version users logon to the system at www.e-see.com. With the Professional version users logon on to the system via a clients website (e.g. www.holden.co.nz)

All the data and files reside in one large database and storage system - however the e-see application presents a different interface or front-end to that data depending on where the user entered the system.

• If they logon via e-see.com - they can search across the full multi-tenant database.
• If they logon via your company website - they can search across only your brands.

Best of both Worlds

One of the benefits of this is that large users of the e-see system (such as Supermarkets) can continue to logon at www.e-see.com and search across the entire database - but brand owners can direct less frequent users to the company website for access to the brand or image library. This is more logical for casual users while frequent users get the benefits of a multi-tenant approach and the ability to search across multiple brands.

Required

Brand Owners need to supply graphics and copy (download graphic and copy instructions here - [804kb]) which e-see staff then uses to skin the e-see system. You'll also need to consider and select the brands/categories that appear in your system. Usually just your own data but sometimes you may want some other complimentary brands.

Once setup and configured by e-see staff, an e-see powered system is then available for the brand owner.

Brand Owners then supply brand assets and brand standards (usage guidelines) for listing. e-see catalogues the originals and compiles them into a selection of common cross-platform electronic formats. and publishes them to the system. Brand owners can then check data and start sharing with users

New users can be added and existing registered users of e-see can then logon at the brand owners website (e.g. www.holden.co.nz) or at www.e-see.com, search for and request access to a brand or category.
